A practical guide and introduction to generative AI for coaches: Using ChatGPT and similar technologies to support our practice

This online, pragmatic workshop will involve a mix of taught content, interactive exercises with live products and targeted discussions with the aims of:  

• becoming more confident to understand how generative AI does what it does

• practicing using ChatGPT and other similar tools to introduce efficiency and significantly increase the impact of coaching practice

• identify gaps and opportunities in our personal technology landscape, to form a personalised strategy and action plan

The workshop will include a range of interactive exercises and draw on frameworks Sam has developed to support structured conversations, following a flexible agenda along the lines of the following:

• Welcome & introductions using a digital picture card deck

• Introduction to generative AI, exploring how generative AI is trained and produces results

• Live demo of ChatGPT to act as a social media marketing assistant and coach mentor

• Experimentation and discussion in breakout rooms

• A coach’s technology landscape using Sam’s framework, explored as a group and in coaching pairs

• Exploration of other relevant technologies, including the potential for a live experience in the metaverse

• Reflections and action-setting
